Yet

Romans 4:18  Against all hope Abraham believed and so he became father of many nations, just as it had been said to him.

Romans 4:20  YET he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

Romans 8:25  But if we hope for what we do not YET have, we wait for it patiently.

Abraham did not have anything but Gods word to him.

He didn’t see the answer, nor could he see even how this word could possibly be accomplished.

How could he possibly be the father of many nations when he and his wife were so up in their ages?

Abrahams hope was in the YET.

He had not seen the answer YET.

YET really says –

It’s on the way.  Don’t give up.  Wait for it.  Only believe.

In this Christmas season we see the stark difference of the greed/poverty mind-set, and the giving/lavish lifestyle of some.

We hear the clamor and the noise, all for want of more stuff and dig our selves deeper into debt and despair.

We have not received that which we are seeking.

Our souls desire the peace of an “O Holy Night”.

Unencumbered by all the entanglements.

God makes many promises to those who believe on His name.

Many promises if we follow Him.

If we believe in Him.

If we have hope in the YET.

God promises peace.

Regardless of circumstance.

His promise is peace that passes all understanding.

Don’t despair if you believe on Him, but don’t seem to have it YET.

It’s on the way.  Don’t give up.  Wait for it.  Only believe.

Your hope is in the YET.

And so.

Fill in the blanks with whatever fits your life today.

Make it your prayer.

Then believe for the YET;

I don’t see ___________________ YET.

YET, I do not waver in my belief.

And so _______________________.

My hope is in the promise You made to me about _______________________________.

My hope is in the YET.

If you want to know peace,

You need to know God.

He Loves Us Still

We often disobey.

He loves us still.

We are not always “Be ye kind”.

He loves us still.

We are sometimes discontent with His provision.

He loves us still.

We are frequently distracted from focussing on Him.

He loves us still.

He speaks, we do not listen.

He love us still.

We hear, but we do not do.

He loves us still.

We are weak and flawed.

He loves us still.

We have no gifts to bring.

He loves us still.

He is the greatest gift ever given.

A King, disguised as a baby.

Incognito, to a world that would lift His name high.

Hidden, to a world that would seek His death.

A King whose only hearts desire is that we would glorify His Father.

See? There in the hay?

This gift seems so insignificant.

So small. So weak. So … human.

He knows what it is like to be us.

What will be our gift to Him?

The One who loves us still?

Significant Encounter Friday #5

Welcome to Significant Encounters Friday #5.

Please enjoy this story of how a Significant Encounter changed Mike’s life,

and how a God Encounter changed the life of a rag-tag bunch of shepherds so many years ago.

Photo of the team

When the angels returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go right now to Bethlehem and see what’s happened. Let’s confirm what the Lord has revealed to us.” They went quickly and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. When they saw this, they reported what they had been told about this child. Everyone who heard it was amazed at what the shepherds told them. Mary committed these things to memory and considered them carefully. The shepherds returned home, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. Everything happened just as they had been told. Luke 2:5-20 (CEB)

Have you, like the shepherds, ever had an unexpected God encounter—a moment in which you knew God had spoken, appeared, or called to you?
