What You Need To Know

In this last post for 2011, there are a few things I wanted you to know.

  • I am so grateful that you have chosen to join me on this journey, journeys are often better with company.
  • I only know where it began, but like Abraham, I do not know where it will go, only that I will follow where ever it is that God leads.
  • I’m quite sure it will not always be easy, but He will always give us a quiet place to rest together.
  • God has more for YOU than you can ever imagine!

I long for you to know the following by heart, to call it your personal prayer.  It is chock full of what God thinks of you.

Even on our best best days, we could never have this much love.

All you have to do, is BELIEVE it!

Psalm 139 (NIV1984)

1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men! 20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. 21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you? 22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Begin this year with a Significant Encounter of your own.

Prince of Peace

“100% Human – 100% God”

“Waiting for a Savior”

“Wonderful Counselor”

“Mighty God”

“Prince of Peace”

“There is nothing more

Captivating than a prince for a Princess.”

Words I heard during three services at church this weekend.

Sticky words.  Words requiring pondering. Careful consideration.

Resounding words to my heart.

100% Human – Jesus came to us as 100% human

In order that HE should know what being human was like.

He gave up His God-ness to share in our humanity.

100% God – Jesus came and remained 100% God-

In order that He could save us from our sin.

He laid aside His God-ness for our benefit.

The Jews were awaiting a Savior –

One to release them from the control the Roman Empire.

What they got for their waiting was an innocent, helpless baby.

This Baby Savior, this helpless innocent –

Turned out to be a Mighty King.

The powerful ruler of a heavenly kingdom.

He is the Prince of Peace –

Not peace as the world gives,

But peace that can only be experienced a heavenly realm.

Jesus IS the Prince of Peace-

Calling on us, to be His Princess.

On the day we receive Him,

                                                We become His spotless Bride.

Yet

Romans 4:18  Against all hope Abraham believed and so he became father of many nations, just as it had been said to him.

Romans 4:20  YET he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

Romans 8:25  But if we hope for what we do not YET have, we wait for it patiently.

Abraham did not have anything but Gods word to him.

He didn’t see the answer, nor could he see even how this word could possibly be accomplished.

How could he possibly be the father of many nations when he and his wife were so up in their ages?

Abrahams hope was in the YET.

He had not seen the answer YET.

YET really says –

It’s on the way.  Don’t give up.  Wait for it.  Only believe.

In this Christmas season we see the stark difference of the greed/poverty mind-set, and the giving/lavish lifestyle of some.

We hear the clamor and the noise, all for want of more stuff and dig our selves deeper into debt and despair.

We have not received that which we are seeking.

Our souls desire the peace of an “O Holy Night”.

Unencumbered by all the entanglements.

God makes many promises to those who believe on His name.

Many promises if we follow Him.

If we believe in Him.

If we have hope in the YET.

God promises peace.

Regardless of circumstance.

His promise is peace that passes all understanding.

Don’t despair if you believe on Him, but don’t seem to have it YET.

It’s on the way.  Don’t give up.  Wait for it.  Only believe.

Your hope is in the YET.

And so.

Fill in the blanks with whatever fits your life today.

Make it your prayer.

Then believe for the YET;

I don’t see ___________________ YET.

YET, I do not waver in my belief.

And so _______________________.

My hope is in the promise You made to me about _______________________________.

My hope is in the YET.

If you want to know peace,

You need to know God.
