The Value of Quietude #10 – Peace for the Hard Times

Welcome the final session.

As you may or may not know, these little videos were made last year in January.

How could we have known what was ahead of us?

Us, being literally the entire planet!

The coronavirus, social distancing, and sheltering in place, deciding the difference between “Essentials” and the “non-essentials”.

All of this has the ability to bring us to our knees.

It is then left up to us if we are on our knees in despair, or if we are on our knees with a knowing that God Himself is not surprised by any of this, and that He has a further plan for us.

He is in control. We can count on Him.

I have found the second choice to be most liberating.

Although I do not relish the way things are at this time, I am calm, and confident, that we will come out even stronger on the other side.

Please enjoy this last post for this series. Let me know what you think,

And I’ll see you next time.

The Value of Quietude #8 – Falling Back Again

It’s funny.

This video is a little over a year old.

And at this time I find myself  “Falling Back Again”.

Having to do this ALL OVER AGAIN.

Even, and maybe even especially with all of this “Sheltering in place”.

I am by personality a “Shelter in place” person.

Just not when it’s mandated I guess.

My brain is not cooperating!

This video is kind of about what we really want to talk about.

Hath God really said?

Who do you say that I am?

Please tell me the truth.

What does this mean?

What should I do?

Thanks for being here, and hanging in there.

I believe you’ll be all the better for it.

Next time – “Quietude in Practice”

I look forward to your return.

Until then …

The Value of Quietude #5 – Inside Job

What ever way you decide to do it – quiet time is a must!

Even if it is just a few minutes behind the bathroom door.

I’m put in mind of Susanna Wesley;

Mother of ten;

When needing quiet time for prayer, sat at he kitchen table, (for two hours) with her apron pulled up over her head.

You can read about her here.

After reading her story, I have to wonder just how badly I want my quiet time!

It MUST be an inside job, right?

I have to want it deep down!

Tips for learning and expanding your super power!

Do you have any to add?

Until next time when we look at Excavation; Be Well.

The Value of Quietude #4 – Quietude Produces …

Quietude produces many things;

Among them hope, lack of fear, and a peaceful life.

Sop comparing yourself and your quiet time to others;

Today you are you!

That is truer than true!

There is no one alive who is you-er than you!-

Dr. Seuss (Couldn’t help it!)

Next time will be #5 – Inside Job

Until then …
