No Through Traffic

I pray that you and yours will have the merriest of Christmas’.

 I pray that each and every tense moment;

you will be able to quiet yourself in Him,

and show His glory. After all, He IS the reason we sing!

road-block

God has been helping me to identify correctly something that has been blocking my path for quite some time.

The problem is that there are times that we are being blocked; We may not know it. We may not see it. Or there are always times, we do see it, but we do not recognize what it is.

I found myself in the latter category.

When we ask God to clean out the corners of our insides, He is of course faithful to do it.

The topic He brought to my attention could not have been any more appropriate for where I find myself today.

I think that there are some things we could learn at any time, but God saves these lessons for us, so that the maximum impact can be made. The truth of that impact is not then lost in the business of everyday life.

I do not believe in coincidence. Only God encounters. Encounters that change our lives at the exact moment the change is needed.  Significant Encounters.

Over time, if you will allow me to, I would like to share my process with you.

The topic that has been a blockage is grief…… See I told you, appropriate right?

Up until now I have only considered grief as in the death of a loved one.

I believe God has chosen now to help me to realize that grief can be brought about in many ways, not just loss of life. Grief can come in the form of the loss of a job, loss of relationship, loss of health, divorce or other changes in long time family structure, changes in lifestyle, whether intentional or not. It is even possible to grieve for loss of childhood or loss of whatever one did not receive as a child. Not stuff mind you, but love, attention, emotional, physical or spiritual support, the things that could and probably would have raised your potential.

My story is both long and dark, but my Father in Heaven is both Big and Bright. He shined a spotlight, on many, many of things blocking my path

Journal excerpt; Loss produces grief. God gives grace for that season, but when that season is finished, if we do not move away from grief, it saps our strength – Shock, denial, bargaining, depression, anger, guilt, confusion must give way to →hope, and acceptance.

Denying these emotions can cause festering and then manifesting in harmful ways = addiction, chronic depression, fits of anger, or physical illness.

*Seasons of guilt incompletely dealt with can turn into STRONGHOLDS of grief.

Grieving that goes on too long robs our strength. The very strength we need to move on to our next season, our season of inheritance.

(I must also cite the book “Possessing Your Inheritance” by Chuck D. Pierce and Rebecca Wagner Systema)

Please ponder these things with me, and next time I will share with you some choices we can all make to get on to the other business God has for us to do.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Hope – Prayer

*

Today’s happenings in Connecticut shock us to our core.

We are deeply saddened by these events.

The upcoming posts to this blog will deal with the topic of grief.

Grief was nowhere near the topic I believed Holy Spirit would touch on during the time I set aside for Him

Amazed I am again, by the fact that He alone knows what we need before we have need of it.

Holy Spirit gave me some really specific ideas on how to deal with grief.

My intent is to share them with you one at a time.

But for today,

I would ask that you pray with me;

Father in Heaven,

We do not understand how it is that such things happen.

We ask that You send the Comforter to the families of the slain.

We ask that You help them and us, to process this pain in a Godly way.

As strange as it seems to ask today, we ask that You be glorified.

We ask that You help Your people to show love and hope to this entire community.

Christ in us, the Hope of glory.

You are our only hope God.

As much as we can today, we leave this with You.

The world we live in appears hope-less.

Somehow as only You can do, please show Yourself.

In You alone is our hope.

As Christ on the cross said,

“Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”

It’s a long road on some days to forgiveness God.

Help our hearts to not be hardened on our way to that place.

In Jesus Name.

Amen.

Recently.

*

Recently.

I love that word recently.

I use the word recently a lot.

The Encarta Dictionary says it like this;

1.  Having happened or appeared not long ago

2.  From current times or the very recent past

Why is that such an important word you ask?

I believe it is because it means that something is happening.

If something happened recently,

Then life is not stagnant or stale.

Stagnant being impure from lack of motion,

Stale?

Well, which of us likes bread that is not fresh?

We tend to go through seasons of stillness,

And then seasons of activity.

Without both seasons,

We cannot grow up in Him properly.

We cannot live Godly lives with only encounters that are ten years old,

While they are great stories and teach us how God works,

We won’t be very effective showing Christ to others unless they can see His fresh work in us.

If we are in Christ,

Hopefully we will recognize these as times of growth for us.

God our Father,

Jesus our Savior,

And Holy Spirit our Teacher,

Have something for us to learn.

I believe we need to take the time to “unplug” from the noise of the world on a regular basis,

Just so we can hear what Father,

Son and Holy Spirit want to say to us.

Our lives are so very loud,

That it is difficult,

If not impossible to hear their voices unless we take that time.

We NEED that time of Significant Encounter,

To understand what things He as in store for us to do.

1 Kings 19:12 (KJV) And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Well, recently, I did just that.

Life had gotten so busy that my mind was in a constant skitter,

Like cold water on a hot skillet.

The sense that God and I needed to conference kept growing every day.

As always,

Whenever I take that time,

God is Faithful to show up.,

Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV1984) Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

That IS HIs promise to me and to you.

When we seek Him we will find Him.

Proverbs 8:17 (NIV 1984) I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

I learned much on that day,

And I fully intend to share,

But I am still processing.

God had a lot to say.

For today,

I leave you with a link that will bless you and stretch you.

Some will say Amen,

Others will have to say h-m-m-m……..

The Resting Place

It is an hour in length but is divided into two parts.

Please allow it to enrich your quiet time,

And then plan to join me when some of my processing has been done.

Until then,

Remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
