Fearless Friday

Peaceful Morning

Welcome to another “Fearless Friday”.

Today I want to share with you what I’ve been reading this week about fear.

It will be followed by the reason I was reading it.

I hope you find encouragement from this, as did I.

***

Here it is in my favorite contemporary version.

Psalm 34:1-5 English Standard Version

34 I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.

Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Or if you’re “Old school”.

Psalm 34: 1-5 King James Version

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

And here, in the most one of the most current forms of communication today, is the reason I’ve been reading it.

Please enjoy Lyndsey’s fresh take on being released from your fear.

Fearless Friday

I’ve said it before.

I’ll say it again.

Please hear me.

There is much going on in our world today that causes fear.

Fear is a necessary response to some things.

Fear alerts us to problems.

Fear let’s us know that we need to take action.

Several years ago I read “The Gift of Fear” by Gavin De Becker, and found it very helpful.

Well it turns out now, that he has written yet another book on fear.

Which I have not yet read.

But I will.

Here is what I want you to hear, from a book that I HAVE read. A lot.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:17 (ESV)

I am not at all saying I am never afraid, what I am saying, is that I must choose not to let fear overtake me.

I must leave this very strong emotion in the hands of the One who loves me most.

Whatever happens, He is still on the throne.

Until next time.
