Today, May 4, 2020.
Over one third of the way through the year.
I’ve heard of this time period called many things.
“The longest month ever!” “Maypril” and a plethora of other names that I will not repeat here.
We’ve all heard stats, instructions, projections, and the moaning and groaning of fear and heartache from all points on the map.
The heartache is certainly real.
The facts and figures are coming at us so fast and furiously that we cannot possibly keep them straight.
Today … I’ve decided to make a new choice.
Frankly I’m really sick of the my old choices.
So with that, I let you know that it’s been a real toil for me, as with others to “Think lovely thoughts”.
I’ve watched, listened and read the most positive stuff I could find;
and still found myself having a difficult time, especially having always worked hard at being optimistic.
Last week, I read something, that helped me to cross the line back to positivity.
I want to share it with you here; with hope that it may help you as well.

Take Shelter in Jesus
Published: 31 March 2020

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the news is strongly telling us to “Shelter in place!” Leaders are trying to find ways to control the further outbreak of this insidious virus. It seems, that in a short amount of time a strong storm has hit our shores.
Protection from the Storm
So, this morning, as I read the Word, I intentionally looked for Scriptures that spoke of “shelter.” Of course, we know that the meaning of the word shelter is: To protect or shield from something harmful.
Shelter is one of the basic human needs, along with food, water, and companionship.
Shelter is a structure that protects from the elements, against attacks or danger. It is a place to live or dwell.
For instance, if you get lost in the woods, the first thing you do is to seek shelter or a protected place to stay. So, shelter provides cover!
Our Strong Tower
Psalms 143:8-9 says —
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in you do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk.
For I lift up my soul to you
Deliver me, o Lord from my enemies
In You I take SHELTER.
Psalm 61:4 says —
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a SHELTER for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
Joel 3:16 says —
The Lord will roar from Zion
And utter His voice from Jerusalem
The heavens and earth will shake
But the Lord will be a SHELTER for His people.
The Presence of the Lord
Jesus is a safe place to SHELTER. He covers us in the storms of life. He redeems our life from destruction, and He crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Bless you today, as you continue to take SHELTER in His Presence. Find some good worship music and join Heaven in worshipping Jesus.
